PRESIDENT INSTRUCTS PROSECUTOR GENERAL TO STUDY CASES OF JOURNALISTS BEING PREVENTED FROM PERFORMING THEIR DUTIES.

KYIV, Ukraine -- The following information was released by the President of Ukraine:

President Viktor Yanukovych has instructed the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Viktor Pshonka to convene a working group to study and provide legal assessment of the facts of journalists having experienced interference in their work listed in an appeal by Chief Editor of the Ukrayinska Pravda Internet publication Olena Prytula.

The President instructed to take measures of response under the legislation based on the working group's conclusions, and report to him on the situation by July 1 this year.
