Oco, Inc., announced an upgrade to its family of on-demand Analytic Applications built on the Oco business intelligence software as a service (SaaS BI) platform.
For years, Oco said it has offered the most complete, turn-key SaaS BI applications for analyzing customers, sales, supply chain and services performance. Upgraded analytic application content and support for mobile BI make it even easier for companies to benefit from SaaS BI and mobile BI.
According to a release, Oco now supports access to its on-demand SaaS BI applications via web browser interfaces on mobile devices like the Apple iPhone, Apple iPad, and Windows tablets. Blackberry and Android support will be available in 2011. Companies with a need to put better decision-making information in the hands of mobile field personnel or executives away from their desks can now do so with mobile-enabled Oco SaaS BI applications. SaaS BI applications are an ideal fit for mobile BI pioneers--they're ready to use, and unlike on-premise BI platforms, they don't require new application development and data center overhead or large, up-front capital investment to roll out.
"We're seeing an increasing number of companies equipping executives and field personnel with Internet-enabled smart phones, and tablets," said William Copacino, president and CEO of Oco, Inc. "Mobile BI with Oco can transform business by making analytic information available to people during planning meetings or partner negotiations or customer service calls; it gives new meaning to 'real-time BI.'"
Oco is also announcing new analytic application functionality and packaging. Oco Analytic Applications include hundreds of best-practice metrics and KPI's that are available via easy-to-use, interactive web-based reports, dashboards and scorecards. They are built on Oco's hosted data warehousing and data integration platform, which securely integrates data from enterprise data sources such as SAP, Oracle, and JDE along with departmental applications and even spreadsheet data.
Oco noted that it has re-structured its family of Analytic Applications to make them easier to license and roll out. There are more solutions available, and each contains reports and scorecards that are more sharply focused on a specific business analytic domain.
"Over the years we have incorporated a lot of metrics and reports into our Analytic Applications... more than customers need in some cases," said Steve Morandi, Oco vice president of analytic applications. "Based on customer feedback, we reorganized our offerings into more focused solutions that are easier to understand, easier to buy, and easier to configure and deploy to meet more specific business needs."
